What is a DR01 Big Lot? And why should you invest in a DR01 Big Lot?

DR01 Big Lot is large-lot trading of Depositary Receipts (DRs), which represent foreign stocks traded on the Thai stock exchange.

It’s designed for investors who want to access global equities in large volumes — starting from a minimum of 1 million units (approx. THB 3 million) — with cost efficiency and convenient local execution.

Key Benefits of DR01 Big Lot Trading:

  • Settle in Thai Baht – No need to open a foreign account or convert currency
  • Real-time trading – Trade during local market hours
  • Enjoy the same benefits as normal DRs – such as dividends and corporate actions

DR prices may be influenced by various factors and can deviate from the underlying asset’s price in the short term—for example, Thai investor demand, currency fluctuations, or mismatched trading hours. However, over the long term, DR prices tend to align with the performance of the underlying assets.

The best time to trade DRs is when both the Thai stock market and the market of the underlying asset are open simultaneously, allowing the liquidity provider to maintain better pricing. Additional factors may affect DR liquidity. Visit www.bualuang.co.th/dr for more details.

It depends on the dividend policy of the underlying asset. If a dividend is paid, Bualuang Securities will deduct fees and expenses before distributing the dividend to DR holders proportionally (pro-rata). Full details are provided in each DR’s prospectus.

Currently, DRs issued by Bualuang Securities do not have currency hedging. Therefore, returns from DRs are affected by the exchange rate between the Thai Baht and the currency of the underlying asset’s market (e.g., USD, HKD, etc.).

No. Capital gains from DR trading are exempt from tax. However, dividends from DRs are subject to the same tax treatment as Thai stocks, meaning a 10% withholding tax is applied without having to be included in personal income tax calculations.
